Using a collection of Asian inspired fabrics gathered through the years, the pattern called to me. (Machine pieced pattern from Quiltmaker magazine. Machine quilting by Windy City Quilting.)

Machine pieced and appliqued. This quilt had both machine applique and yo-yo techniques not yet explored by me. Over the years I had accumulated Stonehenge fabric and thought they might work well in this pattern. Design Source – “Granny’s Stars” by Nancy Mahoney.

Hand applique, hand quilting. Hand sewing is my therapy – it travels well. Hand appliqué is new to me and a bit of a challenge.

Machine pieced. Long arm quilting by Maureen. Variety of color adds interest in this pattern used by IQI in their Quilt-In Friendship Quilt.
