But I Like Ketsup on My Hot Dog!

Beth Polonsky

Fusing, machine appliqué, hand embroidered & beaded. I was always a “hot dog” kid. But ketsup was my choice of condiment. Chicago is the hot dog town but it’s tough walking in and asking for ketsup. And grilled onions? Fogettaboutit! [Part of the Chicago Icon series]

Dye-ing for Flowers

Beth Polonsky

Hand dyed cotton and rayon, commercial fabric, machine pieced and quilted, hand beading. These fabric squares were hand dyed with plant and bug material during a 4-week class at the Botanic Garden. Dyes came from indigo, logwood, madder and weld as well as cochineal, a bug found in the desert.

My Happy Place

Beth Polonsky

Handwoven on loom, bead embellishments, commercial fabric. My happy place in the garden is in the English Walled Garden. The shades of yellow, the different sizes just make me smile. Design Source – Original design.

No Need for Beads
