Hidden Wells Walkabout
Machine piecing, fused appliqué, thread painting
In Australia, ambulatory journeys are called "Walkabouts." Here, a lizard goes walkabout among Hidden Wells of Aboriginal Print fabrics in search of Water (the Focus Fabric) and the water bugs the lizard expects to find nearby and feed on (he's caught one on his tongue). "Hidden Wells" is the name of a commercial pattern used to create secondary patterns from joined fabric strips of varying widths.
