Reblooming Lavender

Hand woven on an upright triangle loom

My miniature lavender bush bloomed in fragrant shades of pink in the early spring of this year. Soon the tiny pink buds opened to lavender and finally the darker purple spent flowers fell to the ground. Here, I have attempted to replicate the progression of this process in my handwoven triangle shawl so it can be worn to remind us of the beauty of nature. These designs have been hand woven on an upright, 6' adjustable triangle loom at which I stand in front of and literally weave each stitch, starting from the two upper right and left hand corners and then working in toward the apex or center of the piece. Each piece took 3-4 days to complete (24-32 hours). My triangle shawls are sold at boutiques, art centers and specialty shops all over the country. Custom work is available.
